LARA BINGLE'S NEW LOVE!

Lara Bingle has lifted the lid on her romance with fashion designer Gareth Moody, revealing to WHO Magazine that the relationship is different to anything she has experienced before.

While the couple have been quietly dating for eight months, they deliberately chose to keep the relationship away from the spotlight as they got to know each other.

Stepping out publicly for the first time to celebrate the occasion of Bingle's 25th birthday party on June 22, their strong affection for each other was obvious to the 50 guests who were invited to attend the black tie event held at the Carriageworks in Sydney.

"As much as Gareth understands my life, he takes me away from the craziness of it all," Bingle, resplendent in a full length gown by Kirrily Johnston, told WHO Magazine. "We don't talk about that part of my life, and he's taught me that I need to have a balance and step away from it or else I'll go insane. I have so many 'yes people' in my life ... I need an escape."

After blowing out the candles on her custom made skull cake, the birthday girl couldn't wipe the smile of her face as Moody—striking in his tuxedo—swept her into his arms. "Gareth is charming, he's a gentleman," Bingle revealed. "He is interested in finding out about me, rather than all the drama going on around me. It feels different to any relationship I've been in before. I feel happy and settled."

Fave lippy colour?
I am all about a red lip and my ultimate is Tom Ford Cherry Lush, $65, from David Jones. The name says it all.

What is your biggest beauty/skin sin?
I don’t really have one. I’m pretty regimental with my skincare routine and luckily have the opportunity to work with wonderful people who I pick up tips and tricks off.

LARA BREEZES INTO QUEENSTOWN

Lara Bingle made a high-profile arrival at the Queenstown Winter Festival yesterday. And then she did it all again. And again.

Travellers at the resort's airport were baffled when the blonde was greeted at the terminal by celebrity dancer Hayley Holt, the former squeeze of All Blacks captain Richie McCaw, and a film crew, which presumably explained the multiple arrivals.

Holt is believed to be hosting Bingle, best known as the face of the "Where the bloody hell are ya?" tourism promotion and for dating Aussie cricket captain (then vice-captain) Michael Clarke.

Bingle's Sydney-based fashion designer boyfriend Gareth Moody was keeping a low profile as she jetted in to shoot scenes for her new Australian reality TV show Being Lara Bingle.

She is also filming for Air New Zealand's "Kiwi Sceptics" promotional campaign, which aims to overcome Aussies' reluctance to holiday across the ditch.

Bingle said she was something of a Kiwi Sceptic, having never spent time here. When she is not taking in Queenstown's bars and restaurants, she will hang out on the ski slopes.

"We are thrilled to be working with Lara and our friends at Destination Queenstown," an Air New Zealand spokeswoman said. "Queenstown is one of the jewels in New Zealand's crown and we are hoping Lara's daredevil nature will showcase what Queenstown has to offer."

Bingle looked remarkably bright when she flew in, considering she had come straight from her 25th birthday bash at Sydney's trendy Carriageworks venue on Friday night.

LARA'S BIRTHDAY RAPTUROUS NIGHT

Her reality television program may have a bit of its audience between weeks one and two, but at least Lara Bingle's 25th birthday party at CarriageWorks last night gave the producers something to shoot for an upcoming episode.

The Ten Network is said to have stumped up for the party in Eveleigh, which featured a list of Bingle buddies said to have included her supporter Kyle Sandilands.

Apparently a gift registry was set up for the girl who has everything at Rapture, which reliable sources inform us is an adult toy shop.

LARA'S 'BEING LARA BINGLE' A HIT AS VIEWERS RETURN FOR SECOND GLIMPSE

The TV reality show about the not-so-real life of model Lara Bingle delivered Ten an adjusted audience of 786,000 viewers nationally last night.

Or, in simple terms, it makes the score: Lara Bingle 1, the Lara Bingle Haters 0.

The result for episode two of Being Lara Bingle represents a drop of only 139,000 viewers from the week before, consistent with most TV programs which settle slightly after their first night.

Ten will proclaim the series a hit, and in real terms - particularly for Ten, where most successful shows live in the 750,000 to 950,000 audience band - they would be right.

The series launched last week to an audience of 925,000.

The minute-by-minute ratings for episode one showed wild fluctuations, indicating that while people were watching, they were also channel surfing in and out of the show.

As a result, there are sharp spikes and troughs across the half hour. That isn't ideal, but it is not uncommon with some TV programs.

Last night's peak audience was 1.23 million, and while Ten will use the number to shape perception of the show as a hit, that specific number isn't indicative of anything, except perhaps a lack of stickiness on the part of the audience.

JOSHUA BINGLE IS CONFIDENT CHANNEL TEN'S 'BEING LARA BINGLE' WILL CONTINUE TO BE A SUCCESS

Hogging the headlines is all well and good but it is ratings that matter for Channel 10's "Being Lara Bingle" which, after impressive figures on debut last week, faces the week-two challenge tonight.

Drawing just under a million in its 8.10pm timeslot last week, the show's staying power will be tested with its second offering about the life of the Sydney model.

One of the show's stars - Lara's brother Josh Bingle - is hoping for the same figures as week one "or even better".

"I was told (Ten) was really happy with last week so we're hoping the second one is even better," he told Confidential.

"Obviously everyone wants the show to do well. We wouldn't have gone into something like this if we weren't hoping it would be a success. It's a really big risk and no one has ever done something like this in Australia, because there aren't many people you could make a whole show about."

The former crane operator (he quit his day job last week) emerged in week one as somewhat of an unlikely star of the show, with cameras playing up a burgeoning love story with Bingle's live-in best friend Hermione Underwood.

But it seems the match failed to flourish, with Josh admitting yesterday he was still single and planned to stay that way.

Meanwhile, a protective older brother, Bingle said he was surprised at some of the backlash directed at his famous sister on the back of the publicity and social networking interest surrounding the show.

"Everyone loves to hate Lara but I don't really know how she can fix it," he said.

"She's really not that bad. She doesn't do anything that warrants some of the things people say about her so it's a bit upsetting.

"So I try not to read too much into what's out there."

LARA ENJOYS A YOGA SESSION ON HER BONDI BEACH BALCONY WITH HERMIONE UNDERWOOD

Model Lara Bingle was back out on her Bondi balcony yesterday, with Ten's new reality darling snapped taking part in a morning yoga session with her BFF Hermione Underwood and their personal instructor.

But we don't think Bingle's Nan would have too much a problem with these snaps, given both girls are fully clothed this time around.

Chatting to Confidential after her big TV debut on Tuesday night, Bingle said she had received "mostly positive" feedback on the first episode of Being Lara Bingle which pulled just under a million viewers.

"Which is really exciting," she said, adding: "Of course there were some negative but that is the nature of the beast and I was prepared and ready for that. At the end of the day I am being myself and people will either love me or hate me."

And what of her critics?

"I am human, I make mistakes I am not perfect and I will take responsibility for my own actions and learn from these lessons."

PROMISING TV DEBUT FOR LARA

Despite failing to to crack the ratings Top 10, Channel Ten are very happy with Lara Bingle's reality television debut Being Lara Bingle.

More than 900,000 viewers tuned in to watch the premiere episode, making it the 13th most-watched program on Tuesday night.

A spokesperson from Ten said the network is thrilled with Tuesday night’s ratings, particularly given Nine’s rating juggernaut The Block ran over its timeslot by 22 minutes - eating into Bingle’s audience.

The Block pulled in an average of just under 1.5million viewers and, in a sneaky move by Nine, ran over by a full segment to finish at 8.22pm.

Being Lara Bingle, meanwhile, started at 8.11pm - itself over schedule by 11 minutes thanks to an extended episode of MasterChef featuring Jamie Oliver.

“We’re really happy with it,” said a Ten rep.

“They’re great numbers considering it’s a show with a niche target demographic.”

WILL LARA WATCH HER OWN SHOW TONIGHT?

If anyone is used to polarising public opinion it's Lara Bingle and the 24-year-old has donned her thickest skin yet as she waits for the reaction to her latest project.

The starlet says her new reality program, Being Lara Bingle, will finally provide a chance to show the "real" Bingle - and she's waiting for her fans and critics to tell her whether or not they like what they see.

While early reviews for the much-hyped program have been largely positive - with some TV blogs such as Pedestrian even calling it the "television event of the year" - Bingle knows she will always have her detractors.

So will she watch the program with the rest of us on Tuesday night?

In the run up to the program's debut, Bingle invited us into the $8 million Bondi pad she shares with her brother and her best-friend-come-manager, Hermoine Underwood to answer that question and more.

'I'M NOT EINSTEIN', SAYS TEARFUL BINGLE AS SHE CLAIMS RADIO INTERVIEW WAS AN 'INVASION'

Following Thursday's interview with Brisbane's B105 radio station, Lara Bingle has told a rival radio show the interview was an "invasion" that brought her to tears, as she explained her reality show was "not trying to change the world. I'm not Einstein".

Turning to the Brisbane airwaves again on Friday, Bingle spoke with Nova106.9, who took the opportunity to take a jab at the rival network, labelling them as a "try hard."

Bingle said the show had treated her with no respect. She also defended her Twitter rant which included a call for B105's Labby, Stav and Abby to be taken off the air.

"There was just no respect. I never go to my Twitter only use it to good use and that was just so necessary. I actually went off and I was in tears. I just felt so confronted by everything," Bingle told Nova's Ash, Kip and Luttsy.

"It was just one question after another. [With] this show (Being Lara Bingle) I'm not saving the world, I'm not trying to change the world, I'm just doing a reality show. I'm not Einstein. I'm not trying to achieve anything else," she said.

Bingle said she took responsibility for subjecting herself to the public's glare admitting she is "putting everything out there.

"But scenarios like asking me a question of what [ex-fiance] Michael [Clarke] thought, it was just stuff that was not necessary," she said.

Being Lara Bingle will debut on Network 10 on Tuesday and Bingle admitted she's yet to see the show herself.

In yesterday's interview Labby, Stav and Abby questioned Lara Bingle about why she should have her own reality show.

Things went downhill to the point where she was described as being "Australia's answer to a question we never asked".

At one stage Abby called her Laura and had to correct herself.

It ended with a curt goodbye from Bingle and the station inviting listeners who "don't like Lara" to call in.

In this morning's Nova interview, presenter Luttsy called the B105 team “try hard.”

“I haven’t heard [the interview] but what I’m thinking is that someone’s told them that [their] show’s not going so well. So the show’s got to be more edgy but what happens when you’re not edgy is you’re a try hard and than you try to be edgy but than you’re just really mean.”

This morning Bingle also tweeted The Courier-Mail's entertainment feed with "Thankyou for an honest article today."

LARA HANGS UP ON B105 AFTER INSULTING INTERVIEW

Oh, if only the TV cameras following her around for Being Lara Bingle had been in the Sydney radio studio yesterday to capture the look on her face when the Brisbane radio jocks at B105 called her and started in on the insults.

In a very awkward - some would say joyless - little interview, Labby, Stav and Abby put to Lara Bingle why she thought she should have a reality show made about her.

Bingle pointed out the show, which starts on Network Ten next Tuesday night, wasn't an overnight decision for her and she'd been dogged about it for two years.

Things went downhill to the point where she was described as being "Australia's answer to a question we never asked".

At one stage Abby called her Laura and had to correct herself.

It ended with a curt goodbye from Bingle and the station inviting listeners who "don't like Lara" to call in.

Bingle instantly tweeted: ". . . worst radio presenters I have ever spoken with."

She added that they should be taken off air.

It sparked an outpouring of support for Bingle among her twitterdom.

Rubbing their hands with glee were rival Brisbane radio team Ash, Kip and Luttsy over on Nova; they've secured an interview with Bingle on Friday morning to get her side of the story.

B105 was left to tweet: "We didn't mean to offend you . . . pls come back soon."

LARA: ‘‘IT WAS 100 PER CENT NOT A PUBLICITY STUNT’’

She's been branded a fake by critics, but Lara Bingle insists she's keeping it real.

Bingle says the latest nude photo scandal, stemming from paparazzi shots of her on the balcony of her Sydney apartment, wasn’t a set-up.

‘‘It was 100 per cent not a publicity stunt,’’ she said today.

‘‘I did think I was safe in my home but obviously I wasn’t.

‘‘You can’t trust anyone, at the end of the day.’’

Bingle denied the photos had been sent to her management and leaked intentionally.

She said it was ‘‘heartbreaking’’ to hear a voicemail left by her grandmother about the scandal, to feature on her new reality show, Being Lara Bingle.

"It affects everyone. I have feelings like everyone else - it’s embarrassing,’’ she told mX.

Bingle said she did not dwell on her so-called mistakes.

"I guess if I worried about that I probably wouldn’t be doing what I’m doing,’’ she said.

"I guess I have no regrets, otherwise I really wouldn’t have a life. I have very thick skin.’’

Bingle, 24, admitted her new show was a risk.

"But I don’t think I have anything to lose really. My life could be much worse,’’ she said.

Bingle has been dating fashion designer Gareth Moody since about August last year.

"He’s the most private person I know, which is crazy to be dating me but it works,’’ she said.

Bingle said she was not chasing drama in her private life even though she was putting it on TV.

"I don’t like to make a problem . . . even in relationships," she said.

LARA REFUSES TO READ NEGATIVE PUBLICITY

Lara Bingle has an agreement with her publicist to only read positive publicity so is unlikely to see any negative feedback about her new show.

Bikini model Lara Bingle says she avoids reading any bad press about herself to keep her sanity and instead focuses on the positive aspects of her life and work.

"I don't read any of it, I just do my work," Bingle tells AAP.

"I've asked my publicist to only send me fashion things or creative stuff; otherwise if you build your mind on all that, there is so much negativity, you can't continue.

"It's going to send you insane."

Since the show was announced by Network Ten, Bingle's life has been full of drama.

There's been a nude photo scandal and a run in with the law over her driver's licence being suspended - both of these incidents appear in the opening episode of Being Lara Bingle.

But even more recently Bingle has changed managers and has a looming court date over another motor vehicle incident while her brother Joshua, who also appears in the series, this week pleaded guilty to common assault.

Fortunately for the producers, these issues have neatly fallen within the shooting schedule of the 10 half-hour episodes.

Bingle said she hopes Being Lara Bingle helps change people's perception of her and has promised a cocktail of work, social and home life during the series.

"One of the incentives of doing the show is there are two sides to it all," Bingle says.

"You see me in the light I am portrayed and obviously there is always the other side and I am a real person with a family.

"At the end of the day it's an opportunity to be myself and show another part of my story."

Being Lara Bingle, premieres on Network Ten on Tuesday, June 12 at 8pm.

LARA BINGLE'S BUNGLE ENDS IN COURT AFTER SHE ALLEGEDLY HITS A MOTORCYCLIST

Photobucket

Lara Bingle is due to appear in court next month after allegedly hitting a motorcyclist and driving on a suspended licence in Sydney's eastern suburbs.

The model has been ordered to appear at Waverly Local Court on July 3 on four charges - not giving way to a vehicle, driving while suspended, failure to give notice of change of address and not providing particulars to the other driver - following an incident in Bondi Beach on May 14.

Speaking from Mumbai yesterday - where she is filming for her Network Ten reality series Being Lara Bingle - the 24-year-old declined to comment on the incident, stating it was "with her lawyers".

But her new agent, Chrissy Biasotto, told The Sunday Telegraph Bingle, who lost her licence last year for speeding, would be fighting the charges.

It is understood that motorcyclist Niki Vinnicombe suffered minor shoulder injuries as a result of the alleged accident.

Channel 10 said that while this was not part of its new reality series, they were aware of Bingle's pending court appearance.

"We are aware Lara was (allegedly) involved in a traffic incident. The matter is before the court and we are not in a position to make any further comment," a spokesman said.

"We were not filming at the time."

Bingle, the former fiance of cricketer Michael Clarke, is expected back in Sydney today - along with former manager Hermione Underwood.

"I was working over in Los Angeles and it seemed the perfect opportunity to stop past on the way home. Hermione's never been here so it was the perfect opportunity to take her," she said of their time in India.

"It's indescribable. There's no in between, it's either very poor or very wealthy."

It was last week revealed that Bingle had ended her professional relationship with Underwood, but the model maintained they had remained good friends

"Our friendship comes first and foremost. I guess with Hermione she wants to do lots of things other than be involved in my life and continually talk about me and my life. She wants to pursue her own things," she said.

"She was there for me during the hardest time, and over the last eight months she's been so supportive."

LARA'S BEST FRIEND TURNED MANAGER HERMIONE HANDS OVER THE REINS

Their relationship has withstood a series of personal and professional setbacks but now Lara Bingle and her BFF Hermione Underwood are parting ways professionally.

Underwood, who stepped in as Bingle's manager a year ago, confirmed to Confidential yesterday that she no longer acted on the behalf of the swimsuit model turned reality star, handing the reins over to Sally Brown and Chrissy Biasotto at Tailor Maid Management in Surry Hills.

The move has raised eyebrows given the well-known closeness of the two girls, who have been virtually inseparable since meeting on a plane flight four years ago.

Since teaming up professionally - after Bingle sacked her previous manager Titus Day - Bingle has been a hit with several ventures including an eyewear collaboration, a series of lucrative modelling campaigns and, most recently, her own reality series on Ten.

According to 'friends', the recent split - which is addressed in the upcoming Being Lara Bingle - has added a level of awkwardness to their relationship given the pair are living together in their rented Bondi penthouse for the show.

"They're putting on a harmonious front but things are tense since Lara decided to get new management," said a friend.

But Underwood, currently in Mumbai with Bingle (where she still has a big profile on the back of her affiliation with Michael Clarke), denied there was any personal beef behind the split and said the pair simply wanted to "go back to being best friends".

"I came on board a year ago because I believed in Lara and we achieved a lot of goals together but it was never really intended to be a long-term, permanent thing," Underwood said.

"I have a lot of personal dreams which I put aside to do this job and now that's something I want to go back and focus on.

"But we're still best friends and I will continue to advise her ... but not as a manager. Just a friend."

Asked if a personal "falling out" sparked the split, Underwood said: "No, but that would probably make a better story."
