LARA HAS NEW AUSTRALIAN REPRESENTATION

Having spent much of this year without representation and breaking it off with two more agents, Lara Bingle has finally found some new Aussie management.

The swimwear model, who signed to Elite Models in New York this month, has officially joined Sydney-based celebrity and music agent Titus Day.

Day is a one-time protege of Jennifer Hawkins' manager Sean Anderson and also represents Guy Sebastian, Axle Whitehead, Lyndsey Rodrigues and The Cassette Kids.

He confirmed Bingle as a client when contacted by Confidential yesterday. "I'm absolutely thrilled to be given the chance to work with Lara," he said from LA.

"We are already looking at some very exciting opportunities for her."

BREAKFAST RADIO ROLE FOR LARA BINGLE?

Lara Bingle is re-inventing herself - yet again - as a breakfast radio jockette.

It is understood the model, who is in talks to sign with Kyle Sandilands' talent management company King Kyle, is in line to cover Jackie O's maternity leave on 2DayFM's top-rating breakfast show from early next year.

If Bingle's radio ambitions are realised, she will share a studio with Sandilands who, in a fairly unique situation, could be both her co-anchor and her manager.

Jackie O, 35, will leave her post in December as she and husband Lee Henderson await the birth of their first child.

2DayFM's parent network Austereo yesterday denied a deal with Bingle had been inked but Sydney radio circles were buzzing about the fill-in role which, if successful, could help Lara make in-roads in broadcasting.

Bingle has already performed a guest stint on Sandilands' show, sitting in during last Wednesday's breakfast program which, according to one radio insider, was "not a bad effort for a first-timer".

LARA'S HOT PROPERTY

While she’ll always be the ultimate shire babe, Lara Bingle has been house-hunting in the east since her return from New York.

An impromptu nosh-up with real estate guru John McGrath sent tittle-tats into overdrive, speculating Bingle was now moving on from Michael Clarke. All untrue – especially since McGrath has a long-time girlfriend.

‘‘John was friends of both mine and Michael’s for a long time – five or six years – and he and his team have kindly been helping me out,’’ Bingle tells S. ‘‘They’ve been so kind; it isn’t as easy to find a place in Sydney as I’d hoped.’’

Gosh, it’s lovely to see the ultimate fashion plate back on the scene. She’s destined to go from strength to strength now she has a few years in the spotlight up her sleeve. Let’s face it, the girl is stunning. And, having just signed internationally with Elite Model Management, there’s little doubt she’ll hook up with local representation soon. ‘‘It was good to have time away and get away from everything,’’ she smiles.

KYLE SANDILANDS TO SIGN LARA BINGLE?

Could Kyle Sandilands be taking Lara Bingle under his wing?

Bingle appeared on air with Sandilands and Jackie O on their 2Day FM breakfast show last week, just a few days after lunching with King Kyle management chief executive Andrew Hawkins (Sandilands' manager) at Bambini Trust in the city.

Bingle could become one of the talents represented by King Kyle's company, whose client list includes Natalie Imbruglia and Scarlett Belle, the pop duo featuring Sandilands' ex Tamara Jaber.

Signing to Sandilands' company would be a smart move for Bingle. He would undoubtedly provide a buffer between Bingle and the rest of the media and with his massive radio and television footprint, could use his voice to protect her.

In other Bingle news, the model and socialite, who split from cricketer Michael Clarke earlier this year, has been driving a string expensive hire cars around town.

Apparently, a loaned $340,000 Maserati wasn't to her liking, so she's now driving her mum's black Audi until she gets a new car.

Insider spotted Bingle struggling a little while parking the Audi outside Potts Point's Yellow Cafe last weekend. But Bingle was unfazed as she bumped a Volkswagen Golf before getting out and having coffee with friend Max May.

LARA BINGLE AMOUNG THE US ELITE

Lara Bingle has her career back on track and has joined one of New York's top modelling agencies.

Bingle, who recently spent about eight weeks holidaying in the US, has signed with Elite Model Management.

The move allows the model to further her dreams of working in the US and Australia.

She was picked up by the powerful fashion stable during the sojourn that she took after the end of her relationship with cricketer Michael Clarke.

"I have an agency over there," Bingle told a Sydney radio station on Tuesday.

"I really enjoyed myself over there. I just got a break from everything.

"In a perfect world, I'd like to continue going back. New York is one of my favourite places."

While Bingle was spotted having a leisurely breakfast in Bellevue Hill this week, it is understood that Bingle was anything but idle on her New York adventure, with the stunning bikini babe believed to have done several photo shoots while in the Big Apple.

Sources say she is happy to start "from scratch" in the US and is believed to have shot a completely new portfolio for Elite.

She was drawn to Elite by one of the company's talent scouts who used to work at a top Sydney model agency.

While Bingle is keen to take up opportunities should they arise in America, the 23-year-old, who is the face of Speedo, will continue to base herself in Australia.

LARA BINGLE JOINS SPEEDO IN THE SWIMWEAR WAR

The swimwear battle has just begun and the war has never looked hotter.

Lara Bingle, wearing an itsy-bitsy bikini, will lead Speedo's summer blitz, while brunette supermodel Nicole Trunfio wore a sexy one-piece from Megan Gale's new Isola label at last week's David Jones fashion parade.

Not to be outdone, Seafolly has again recruited blonde stunner Jessica Hart to market its latest collection for the lucrative summer retail season and Jennifer Hawkins will star in the campaign for her own label, Cozi.

Despite Bingle's recent spate of bad publicity, Speedo had no hesitation signing on the Sydneysider for a second season.

"She's a beautiful girl and she really does embody that outdoors, Australian beach girl," marketing manager Tiffany Scott said.

"We think she'll be great for the campaign."

Ms Scott refused to comment on whether this year's campaign which was shot in December last year, would be Bingle's last with the brand, saying that was "a conversation that needs to stay in place internally".

She said having a famous face attached to a brand was a trend right across the swimwear market.

"It definitely is a trend at the moment to use faces to support brands, so to be in a competitive arena then that's something that needs to be considered," Ms Scott said.

Seafolly ambassador Hart, 24, has aspirations to one day create her own swimwear designs.

"I always have good ideas about what I might be able to do with swimwear, but I'm just trying to take one thing at a time," she said.

Gale's new swimwear line, Isola, made its debut at the David Jones parade last Tuesday and will go head to head with Hawkins' latest Cozi collection.

Ms Scott said Speedo hasn't ruled out hiring a personality to design a range with the label.

"It's something that gets discussed because its something that's happening in the marketplace quite frequently," she said.

THE TRUTH ABOUT LARA BINGLE'S ENGAGEMENT RING

It was the news that gripped Sydney - and now, Insider can reveal just what really happened to Lara Bingle's engagement ring.

At the time of her break-up with star cricketer Michael Clarke in March, Bingle was accused of flushing the $200,000 diamond engagement ring down the toilet at the couple's then Bondi apartment.

Now, Clarke himself has put the matter to rest.

"I can guarantee you it was never flushed down the toilet," Clarke says.

"That's another one of those brilliant rumours. The ring is in a very safe place."
