She has more than 150 pairs, so it’s no wonder the gorgeous Lara Bingle wanted her own sunglasses range, as she tells OK!She’s one of the most talked-about Aussie stars and one of our fave style icons.
Not a week goes by in the OK! office where we don’t pour over pictures of her in the latest Balenciaga boots or Ellery blazer, so it’s no surprise that we jumped at the chance to chat to the 24-year-old about her new role as a sunglasses designer!
‘Sunglasses are something I’ve loved forever,’ she says. ‘So when ROC asked me to be the face of the brand, as well as design my own range, I was like, "Yes please!"’
Proving she's more than just a pretty face, Lara, who's currently appearing in the ROC spring/summer campaign, is working hard on the designs of her own collection - Lara Bingle for ROC Eyewear - which is due to hit stores later this year. "It's going to be a mixture of classic styles with fashion-forward shapes thrown in', she reveals.
The gorgeous model cites celebrities such as Chloe Sevigny and Kate Moss as inspiration, and admits to owning almost 150 pairs of sunglasses - pieces she's collected from her travels and markets.
'Doing ROC and a sunglasses range is only the beginning', Lara says. 'I love fashion , I enjoy being creative and it's something I'm really interested in.' Her next project is a beauty book with her besties and make-up artist, Max May - and if the trends she inspires day after day are anything to go by, we're tipping the coffee-table book and her new sunglasses range won't be on the shelves for long!
