LARA WORTHINGTON OPENS UP ABOUT STAYING LOW KEY IN CALIFORNIA

More than a decade after Lara Worthington fronted that ill-fated $180 million Tourism Australia campaign, it’s the rest of us now asking: “Where the bloody hell are you?”

But the former bikini model and short-lived reality star’s new low-key lifestyle is no old school Bingle bungle — it’s very deliberate.

“I feel that as I get older, the less people know about me, the better,” Worthington told the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia.

“I still use Instagram, but I’ve stopped posting too much about my life — just work stuff.

“To be honest, I don’t know if it bores me — maybe I’m over Instagram, or is because I have my family and it feels like I’m wasting time,” she said.
The 31-year-old, her actor husband Sam and their two boys Rocket, 3, and Racer, 21 months, have just moved to Los Angeles from New York.

Sam
Worthington is filming four back-to-back Avatar sequels with director James Cameron.

And his wife is enjoying the blissful anonymity the US offers.

“I’m just a little fish in a big sea here, so I just go about my day,” Worthington told her interviewer and friend Aussie actor Phoebe Tonkin.

“My 20s were about travel, parties, exploring, less responsibility,” Worthington, who was once engaged to Aussie cricketer and test captain Michael Clarke, said.

“My 30s feel more about routine.”

LARA WORTHINGTON SELLS OFF THE BASE STOCK AFTER WEBSITE MYSTERIOUSLY SHUTS DOWN

Rumours are swirling around the future of Lara Worthington’s beauty label The Base.

The Aussie model has been offloading stock at bargain prices with a fire sale on all products in recent weeks and the website mysteriously shutting down late last month.

But representatives for Worthington insist the label isn’t closing down, but rather preparing for a relaunch.

Confidential inquired about the future of the brand following months of promotions in which products were being flogged on The Base website for $20, even offering a buy-one-get-one-free deal on all stock in May.

Last year Worthington hired Patrick Devlin — the former buying director of Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop brand — to take The Base and her personal brand to the next level.

Devlin attempted to quash suggestions the fake tan brand was being shut down when contacted by The Daily Telegraph or comment.

“Yes, we are working on a relaunch,” he said. “The site isn’t closed, it’s just down temporarily. We are working to have it back up and running ASAP.”

Industry insiders have noticed a distinct lack of promotion from Worthington about the brand in recent months.

The mother of two has so far made no mention of the brand’s website shut down, or confirmed whether she is winding up the tanning range she launched in 2014.

On June 27, The Bases’s Instagram site posted an alert which read “Last day: All products $20.” Some followers were confused by the post, asking when certain products would be back in stock.

“My focus has been to offer the modern woman the best line of products to achieve a healthy, safe glow; a look of vitality and wellbeing, one that enhances their inner beauty,” Worthington said at the time.

The model has also parted ways with her long-time manager Annie Kelly.

Kelly represents Australia’s top models including Bridget Malcolm, Jesinta Franklin and Shanina Shaik.

Little is known about the details surrounding the pair ending their working relationship. It is understood there is no bad blood between the Sydney-based talent manger and Worthington.

LARA WORTHINGTON BACK ON THE SOCIAL SCENE WITH HER A-LIST POSSE IN LOS ANGELES

It looks like things are finally clique-ing together for model Lara Worthington, who is now running an Aussie posse in America. But instead of a wild rat pack, they’re more like church mice.

Actor husband Sam Worthington is shooting Avatar 2 and, after lying relatively low following the birth of her children Rocket, 2 and Racer, 1, the “Where the bloody hell are you?” model is getting back on the scene.

While The Base founder is once again close to her former BFF Hermione Underwood, the rest of her group consists of hairdresser Travis Balcke, fellow model Bambi Northwood Blyth, make-up artist Victoria Baron, actors Tessa James and Phoebe Tonkin and stylist/designer Marina Afonina.

“Now her kids are over the age of one and Sam is busy with work, she is ... putting herself out there a bit more,” a friend said.

But champagne catch-ups have been replaced with coffee dates with fellow mum and actor Tessa James, who is now living in the US with her husband former NRL player Nate Myles.

And while she has attended A-list events with Northwood Blyth, the gal pals also caught up for a barefoot pottery class.

LARA WORTHINGTON SHOWS OFF $200K EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT

Lara Worthington has shown off her brand new $200,000 luxury black Porsche gifted to her as a Christmas present from her star hubby Sam Worthington, months after claiming, “we’re not rich” during a radio segment.

The 30-year-old bragged about her new wheels with the caption “Sa(m)nta came early” suggesting the lavish present was from Sam.

During the Instagram Story, her eldest son Rocket was filmed inside the boot of the car.

“Rocket looking for the booster seat,” she jokingly wrote.

Another caption said: “Turbo charged, I did ask for a Prius.”

The mega cash splash comes after Lara was shut down on the Kyle and Jackie O Show in May during a Secret Sound competition, which came with a $50,000 prize money.

When she was told she would not be handed the money if she guessed the sound correctly, Lara snapped saying: “We’re not rich,” before shock jock Kyle Sandilands called “bull sh*t.”

“I don’t think that’s true,” he added.

“We’re not rich, we’ve just got the biggest movie franchise in the world and our own make-up company,” Sandilands added.

Sam was the star of 2009’s Avatar, which remains the highest-grossing film of all time with box office takings of $US 2.7 billion. He has signed on for future sequels in the franchise, and has starred in box office hits including Clash of the Titans and Hacksaw Ridge. In 2014 he made the BRW Young Rich List with an estimated fortune of $22 million.

Lara herself has a personal fortune estimated to be in the millions, thanks to her lucrative modelling gigs and sponsorship and endorsement deals.

LARA WORTHINGTON'S INSANE BIRTHDAY PRESENT FROM HUSBAND SAM

WHEN your husband is a Hollywood movie star and you’re living a life of luxury in New York, how else do you celebrate your 30th birthday than flying to four concerts in four cities in four days.

That’s exactly how Lara Worthington saw in her fourth decade last month after husband Sam, 40, arranged for a surprise around-the-world trip for his glamorous wife, leaving their two children with Worthington’s mum Sharon for the week.

The rare tell-all about the romantic getaway flies in the face of recent split rumours that have dogged the couple in recent months.

The interview emerged just days after the pair put up a united front on the red carpet for the world premiere of Sam’s new film Manhunt: Unabomber in New York.

In the interview with Elle Australia, Worthington spilt details on her intensely private husband’s grand gesture, giving a rare insight into the reclusive Aussie actor’s romantic ways.

“I spent my recent 30th birthday at the Blue Lagoon in Iceland," Worthington told the mag. ”I’ve wanted to do the spa experience there for a long time so it was super sweet of him.”

The couple then took off for a whirlwind concert jaunt around the world, no doubt flying via private jet.

“We flew to Ireland and saw Radiohead,” she added, “to Brussels the next morning for Coldplay, and then to London where he took me to Royal Ascot — because he knows I like getting dressed up — and Ed Sheeran that night.

“The last concert was U2 in Toronto. At the end of each day I would get a T-shirt revealing the band I was seeing the next night. It was crazy but so much fun. It took him six months to organise.”

Sandilands called “bulls**t” on the remark, adding sarcastically, “We’re not rich, we’ve just got the biggest movie franchise in the world and our own make-up company.”

Worthington also opened up in the magazine interview about why she doesn’t respond to media reports about her personal life anymore.

“Over the past few years I’ve realised that I find more comfort in keeping quiet.”

LARA WORTHINGTON COVERS ELLE AUSTRALIA

Lara Worthington has well and truly grown up.

The 30-year-old mum-of-two has shown off a chic new look on the latest cover of Elle Australia.

With her hair styled in a simple bob parted down the centre, the former model glowed as she posed in a white lace Christian Dior dress. The stunning photoshoot took place at the designer’s Château de la Colle Noire estate in France.

Worthington’s stylishly low-key look is a stark contrast to her younger days as a swimsuit model and wannabe reality star.
The now-private blonde attributed the change in her life to her husband — Australian actor Sam Worthington.

“Meeting Sam is when things really changed for me. Until then, I never really trusted anyone entirely,” she told the magazine.
“When I was younger, I think maybe I’d try to impress a person by adapting to their ways, but with Sam, from the get-go, I was just myself.
“I wasn’t trying to be anyone else and I think that’s the basis for a strong relationship.”

The pair share two sons — two-year-old Rocket Zot and nine-month-old Racer.

LARA WORTHINGTON AND SAM QUASH SPLIT RUMOURS

Lara and Sam Worthington have quashed rumours of a possible split after their loved-up appearance on the red carpet of Manhunt: Unabomber’s world premiere in New York.

The pair, who have young sons Rocket and Racer, posed with their arms firmly around each other for waiting camera crews.

Social media went into meltdown last month when Lara, 30, changed her surname name back to Bingle while staying in a hotel in Hong Kong.

Lara uploaded an Instagram story with a note on a gift from a hotel with the name “Ms Bingle” on the card.

“Dear Ms Bingle, so sorry I missed your departure but I do hope you’re settling well in our House! Please do let us know if you have any plans to come back. Safe travels,” the note read.

It was the second time Lara was caught-out by her followers for using her maiden name.

An entry pass for the Pandora — The World of Avatar exhibition at Disney World, Florida also said “Lara Bingle”.

But things appeared well in paradise with unshaven Sam, 41, lovingly gazing at Lara for the cameras.

The blonde model, who opted for a silver floral dress with black boots, clutched onto her husband’s arm for their night out without the kids.

LARA WORTHINGTON'S NEWEST SON RACER STEALS THE SPOTLIGHT

Lara Worthington has landed in Sydney dressed in a glamorous beige overcoat — but it was the model’s newest baby Racer, who stole the spotlight.

Racer is the second child for Lara and her husband Sam Worthington, who had their first child, Rocket Zot, in March 2015.

The five-month-old wore a blue onesie, grey socks and a knitted white beanie as he was cradled by his celebrity mother through the arrivals terminal this morning.

Lara, wearing an overcoat and jeans with a simple wedding band, showed off her son to waiting camera crews after a long flight with the tot.

The blonde travelled with Racer but Worthington and Rocket were not pictured with her at the airport.

Lara welcomed her second child in October last year and only revealed details of her second baby in Harper’s Bazaar magazine last month.

Based in New York, Lara made headlines after jumping to the defence of her first child Rocket Zot’s name — after speculation circulated among Australian media that it was actually fake.

“My son’s middle name IS a respectful nod to my late father, whose nickname was affectionately, Zot,” Bingle wrote on social media at the time.

Racer is the second child for the celebrity couple, who had their first child, Rocket Zot, in March 2015.

Based in New York, Bingle-Worthington jumped to the defence of Rocket Zot’s name — after speculation circulated among Australian media that it was actually fake.

Ingredients,
– 2 cups of oats
– 1 tsp nutmeg
– 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
– 1 tsp salt
– 4 or 5 bananas

– ½ cup walnuts
– 3 tsp baking soda
– 2 eggs

Method,
1. Set oven to 180°C.

2. Mix the oats, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt in a blender. Blend until the oats become like a flour-like consistency.

LARA WORTHINGTON ON BIRTH: "KNOWING YOU HAVE TO GIVE BIRTH AND THERE IS NO OTHER WAY YOU CAN GO IS SCARY"

Lara Worthington has spoken about her fear of childbirth, with the arrival of her second baby, reportedly another boy, a few weeks away.

“Knowing you have to give birth and there is no other way you can go is scary. There’s no going back, you have to go forward. Now I know more than last time. And for someone who doesn’t have kids, you can’t explain it,” she said.

The usually media shy blonde was speaking to blog Tomboy Beauty, which will publish the interview in full on Monday.

Worthington also prefers to describe herself as a “mum, a CEO and a businesswoman” rather than model.
“I don’t do much modelling anymore. I feel like I’ve grown up and changed the direction,” she said.

And part of that new direction is revealing far less about her life. Once happy to court publicity, Worthington said she is now far more choosy about what she posts online.

“(Social media) is not in our house, so it became less and less of a want for me, and (less of) a need to see other people’s lives, rather than just live my own,” she said.

“There’s no mystery anymore and I think that’s what people miss.”
