More than a decade after Lara Worthington fronted that ill-fated $180 million Tourism Australia campaign, it’s the rest of us now asking: “Where the bloody hell are you?”
But the former bikini model and short-lived reality star’s new low-key lifestyle is no old school Bingle bungle — it’s very deliberate.
“I feel that as I get older, the less people know about me, the better,” Worthington told the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia.
“I still use Instagram, but I’ve stopped posting too much about my life — just work stuff.
“To be honest, I don’t know if it bores me — maybe I’m over Instagram, or is because I have my family and it feels like I’m wasting time,” she said. The 31-year-old, her actor husband Sam and their two boys Rocket, 3, and Racer, 21 months, have just moved to Los Angeles from New York.
Sam Worthington is filming four back-to-back Avatar sequels with director James Cameron.
And his wife is enjoying the blissful anonymity the US offers.
“I’m just a little fish in a big sea here, so I just go about my day,” Worthington told her interviewer and friend Aussie actor Phoebe Tonkin.
“My 20s were about travel, parties, exploring, less responsibility,” Worthington, who was once engaged to Aussie cricketer and test captain Michael Clarke, said.
“My 30s feel more about routine.”

“Now her kids are over the age of one and Sam is busy with work, she is ... putting herself out there a bit more,” a friend said.
But champagne catch-ups have been replaced with coffee dates with fellow mum and actor Tessa James, who is now living in the US with her husband former NRL player Nate Myles.
